Incisional hernia is the coming out of abdominal visceri by a muscular - aponeurotic hole in the abdominal wall, equivalent to a previous surgical wound. The meddleline incisions have a greater risk of hernia than subcostal and transverse.
It's reported a 8 -10% of postoperatory hernias, due to infection, haematomas, denutrition.
